Merry Christmas everyone

Dear family and friends, We would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas. We miss you a lot especially during this time of the year. We decided to stay home instead of traveling because of weather. Nate and I cooked pilau, Chapati, chicken and made Kachumbari. It was sooo yummy!

Wow!! Santa came!

Andrew got his wish from Santa, he woke up this morning to find a speed bike he has been admiring for sometime whenever we went to a toy store. He was a good boy this year which made Santa Claus to grant his wish. He feels like a big boy now learning how to pedal his bike.

Shoveling snow

We have received our fare share of snow for almost two weeks now. This morning we woke up to find there are piles of snow on our front door.

Iceberg

Rexburg can fit a famous joke that it is iceberg! I took this photo at noon today.

Santa Claus

Andrew got his first encounter with Santa at Walmart Store this morning when they went shopping with Ben. He had an opportunity to get a photo with Santa.

Let it Snow!

It starts to look like a white Christmas. We had a snow storm this morning which changed the whole scene outside.

Summer time

We had fun this last summer, It was warm and humid just like Dar and we happened to love it. Andrew and Faith had a lot of fun playing together. Nephi was good in being a big brother to them.

Holiday Season.

We surely love the holiday season. Rexburg is beautifully decorated with lights during the night time and we real enjoy our evening as we go around admiring all those lights and such a great holiday spirit it brings to all of us.

Horse Riding

Ben has developed a new hobby which is kind of weird him being from Africa, it is horse riding. We have family friends in Rigby, Gordon and Sherrie Allen. Gordon has taught Ben how to ride a horse and they normally go on horse ride during summer time. It is fun to explore the beauty of nature while on a back of a horse. They are gentle, friendly and smart animals, I took a picture of Mike one of the horse I like to ride.

Andrew and Ava

Andrew has got a great friend, out next door neighbors' daughter Ava. They are both of the same age and likes to play together without fighting. Andrew seems to be very gentle and friendly to other kids which makes him to real enjoy his time in nursery.

Halloween

We had such a great time this Halloween since Andrew was old enough to understand what was going on. We dressed him as a bug for his Halloween costume and Ben went with him to trick-or-treat. He was excited and felt so cool to knock on people's homes! This picture of him was taken during our ward Halloween party.

Nate used Mexican ready made wheat flour Tortillas to make Sambusa and they turned out delicious.

First Fall snow - Rexburg

We received a little bit of snow about two weeks ago and the temperature has started to decrease!
Here is Nate and Andrew on their way to attend church.

Temple Square

October 2008 General Conference

During the first weekend of October we had the opportunity to be in Salt Lake city, Utah to attend the General Conference of our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am humbled to be part of the Kiswahili Language translating Team for the Church General Conferences. It is a great opportunity to work with good friends like Andrew Zilalle, Emmanuel Demzee, Gallus Runyeta, Amram Musungu, Ben Mutunga and Raydon Musungu.
This photo was taken around Temple square before the start of the next conference session.

The construction around BYU-Idaho campus and the City of Rexburg has been going on in a steady pace despite the slowing down of the construction projects throughout the nation. I took this pictures of almost finished Manwaring Center Building which houses the new bookstore and other facilities. The construction of the new auditoriom is almost getting close to its final stages.

Pioneer day parade- July 24th

We had fun watching the pioneer parade in St. Anthony,Idaho. The parade is organized each year to commemorate all those faithful pioneers who took courage in heeding the Lord's call to move to the Western part of the United States and established prosperous communities through faith and hard work. We had such a good time with Andrew Zilalle and his four daughters who came all the way from Salt Lake city, Utah.

Cooling off!

This place can get hot during this time of the year, Andrew and his mom taking time to cool off and enjoy each other's company while dad is at work. Oh, how we wish our cities back home could have such nice parks to have individuals and families enjoy wholesome activities.

Enjoying the beautiful outdoor recreation activities has become our passion. Eastern Idaho is known for its beauty in all seasons but more especially during summer. Having fun exploring the Mesa Falls located about 26.5 miles from Rexburg. What a wonderful feeling it is to take time and appreciate Nature.
